After School Program

The After School Program is available to Iowa Falls students in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade. It is a safe, caring, and fun environment where children can learn social skills, receive help with schoolwork, and find positive adult role models. We recognize the importance of after school hours on your child’s development and we strive to make the best of these hours by carrying out the program in a comfortable and fun setting.

The After School Program will provide children with nutritional snacks, a chance to interact with other children, time to do new activities, as well as schoolwork each day. Some activities we do at the school include puzzles, board games, books, movies, music, computer games, cooking fun, and outdoor activities.

The program is available Monday-Friday starting the first day of school and ending the final day of school according to the school calendar. Our classroom is located in the third grade wing of Rock Run Elementary right inside the door closest to the playground. Services will be available immediately after school until 6:00 PM. Children must be picked up and signed out by an authorized adult via the north door off the playground. The program will not be available on days school is not in session such as holiday breaks & snow cancellations. However, if school is dismissed early or convened late, the After School Program will still be available.

The Iowa Falls School system will provide bus transportation for the Pineview students to Rock Run after school is let out. It will be up to you to inform your child’s teacher of any changes in his or her schedule. On Wednesdays we will also be riding a school bus for our different field trips.

Program fees are as follows:

Regular Days (M, T, Th, F):

1 Child: $5.00/day

2 Children: $10.00/day

3 Children: $15.00/day

Wednesdays & Early Dismissals:

1 Child: $7.00/day

2 Children: $14.00/day

3 Children: $21.00/day

On Wednesday early dismissals, we have Wacky Wednesday where we offer activities outside of the school. Everyone is invited to these activities, even if they are not a regular attendee of the After School Program.

These activities may include Calkins Campus, Apple Ridge Orchard, swimming, bowling, picnics, sledding, Scenic City Empress, as well as tours of many local businesses. The children really enjoy taking field trips to all sorts of different places! Some activities may require children to bring an additional $1.00 or $2.00 on the day of the activity that goes to the place of business.

Wacky Wednesday Cost:

1 Child: $10.00/activity

2 Children: $18.00/activity

Space is limited, so please enroll your child early, to ensure participation. Enrollment forms may be picked up in the classroom during regular summer hours, or can be emailed to you by contacting Sarah Day, our new director at

Meet the Director!

Hello! My name is Sarah Day and I am the Director of the After School Program. This is my first year as Director. I would like to take this opportunity to provide you with a little information about myself. I have lived in Iowa Falls area for the last 12 years. For the last 9 years, I was the Youth Services Director of the Alden Public Library, where I was instrumental in increasing participation in programing from 8 children to over 40, contributing directly to the library's 5-star status. I am currently finishing my art degree at UNI. I am married and have a two and a half year old daughter, as well as two cats. Along with the role as Director of the ASP, I also occasionally teach art classes to kids at the Hearst Center in Cedar Falls. I understand how important it is to find quality care for school aged children and it is my goal to provide that for your family!
